One cannot think of human health without linking it to the animal world. In Europe alone, over 200 million animals live in 75 million homes. Of these 130 million are dogs and cats. Close contact between owners and animals can cause diseases (called "zoonosis"), sometimes even fatal to humans: Leishmaniasis, Echinococcosis, Leptospirosis, Rabies are just a few examples. Also in animal husbandry, there are pathogens that represent a potential problem for humans and farms.

The possible effects of a case of contamination of agri-food production can be disastrous with severe economic losses and health risks for humans. To protect human health it is therefore necessary to guarantee the health of the animals that live with him as well as ensuring the health of the livestock production chains. The prevention, surveillance and monitoring of pathogens of animal origin are an indispensable prerequisite for avoiding risks to human health, since most modern pathologies come from contact with animals or are derived from food. Therefore, it is always necessary to monitor the quality of the products. Quality is pretty much everything.

The OIE, Word Organization for Animal Health, increasingly calls in recent resolutions for the use of simple, fast and, if possible, even field tests capable of preventing and monitoring pathogens. In line with what is required, we produce and offer diagnostic tests capable of identifying the pathogens that cause infectious diseases in pets and farm animals.

Our system is now used by various public and private laboratories as a daily ally of the diagnostic laboratory operator. It has proved to be an effective laboratory tool for detecting those pathogens that are difficult to isolate and/or identify with traditional methods. The small size and easy portability allow it to be used in the field as well.
