Kit Description

Specific kit for the qualitative, rapid and specific detection of Salmonella spp. in animal stool samples or rectal swabs

Canine parvovirus (CPV) is an infectious disease of viral origin, known as transmissible hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (and myocarditis) in dogs.

The disease is caused by canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV-2), to distinguish it from parvovirus 1 (CPV-1), which is responsible for neonatal mortality in puppies; 3 subtypes are known: CPV-2a, 2b, 2c.

The virus in question has a close antigenic and genomic relationship (>95%) to the feline panleukopenia virus (FVPV), from which it is believed to have mutated. The virus is highly contagious and is excreted in feces and body fluids, saliva, vomit, and urine.

It is very resistant in the environment and can survive up to a year.

Infection occurs through the fecal-oral route, through direct contact with the feces of infected dogs, or indirectly through exposure to the environment or contaminated objects, such as in kennels through litter boxes, bowls, or even dog caretakers. Those most at risk are unvaccinated puppies under six months of age.

Il virus è specifico dei cani ma occasionalmente anche i gatti possono infettarsi.

CPV 2 attacks and destroys the erythrocytes in the intestinal crypts, causing a very severe hemorrhagic enteritis, causing fever, anorexia, vomiting and uncontrollable diarrhea.

Death occurs due to severe hyperthermia associated with dehydration.

The Kit is composed of

Reagents

To perform rapid DNA extraction and specific gene amplification with LAMP technology

BADGE (RFID)

Contains all information relating to the kit, including the lot number and expiration date

TABLET WITHIN ICGENE APP

With real-time results of the research for canine parvovirus and feline panleukopenia virus in stool samples and rectal swabs

RAPID BIOMOLECULAR
ANALYSIS

Automatic interpretation of results

The system allows for automatic interpretation of results, real-time viewing, and online availability. Sigmoid curves corresponding to positive (+) samples indicate the presence of Canine Parvovirus and Feline Panleukopenia Virus. Straight lines indicate that the analyzed samples are negative (o) for Canine Parvovirus and Feline Panleukopenia Virus.
