Specific kit for the qualitative, rapid and specific detection of Legionella spp. in samples of water for human use, hot water, mineral water, and water from cooling towers.

Somatic coliphages are DNA viruses, non-pathogenic for humans, closely associated with bacterial species that populate the intestines of warm-blooded animals, including humans.
Their presence is a significant indicator of fecal pollution, highlighting potential risks in the water treatment and disinfection phases.
Legislative Decree no. 18 of 23 February 2023 (Annex II, Part A, point 5)* introduced the somatic coliphage parameter in the operational monitoring of water for human consumption, setting a limit value of 50 UFP per 100 mL. Exceeding this value suggests the ineffectiveness of the water treatment phases and requires further in-depth verification of the processes, measuring the parameter again at the end of the disinfection.

With real-time results of the search for Legionella spp. n the analyzed water samples
The system allows for automatic interpretation of results, real-time visualization, and online availability. Sigmoid curves corresponding to positive (+) samples indicate the presence of somatic coliphages. Straight lines indicate that the analyzed samples are negative (o) for somatic coliphages.
