Kit Description

Specific kit for the qualitative, rapid and specific detection of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in mineral water samples.

Staphylococcus aureus is a bacterium that can cause skin infections, pneumonia, and other diseases. When staphylococci colonize the distribution system, they can grow inside tanks, aerators, and household water purifiers, where they can reach high bacterial counts, form biofilms, and, in some cases, produce significant quantities of enterotoxins.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an environmental microorganism found in surface and drinking water. It is often present in stagnant conditions and can proliferate in tanks and household water treatment equipment. Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections can lead to respiratory problems, bone and joint problems, gastrointestinal problems, and other symptoms.

The presence of one or both microorganisms in bottled water sold for sale may indicate inefficient treatments or poor packaging procedures since, if present, they are capable of multiplying.

According to the Ministerial Decree of 10 February 2015, which establishes the criteria for evaluating the characteristics of natural mineral waters, Staphylococcus aureusand Pseudomonas aeruginosamust be completely absent in 250 mL of mineral water.

The Kit is composed of

Reagents

To carry out the growth of microorganisms isolated from the water sample, the subsequent rapid extraction of DNA and the specific gene amplification with LAMP technology

BADGE (RFID)

Contains all information relating to the kit, including the lot number and expiration date

TABLET WITHIN ICGENE APP

With real-time results of the search for Legionella spp. n the analyzed water samples

RAPID BIOMOLECULAR
ANALYSIS

Automatic interpretation of results

The system allows for automatic interpretation of results, real-time visualization, and online availability. Blue sigmoid curves for positive samples (A+) indicate the presence of Staphylococcus aureus. Red sigmoid curves for positive samples (B+) indicate the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. AB+ positive samples are positive for both microorganisms; conversely, the absence of sigmoid curves indicates that the analyzed sample is negative.
